Greens are one of the easiest things to grow and I encourage everyone to grow more greens. Where we live with just a bit of work and some good selection we can grow greens outside 12 months out of the year. Our farm is well known for its greens, especially its mustards and arugula. So turn over your lawn or put pots on your stoop and grow some greens.
We plant most greens when the soil is workable and then the rest after mothers day. Each type will need to be planted at different depth and spacing, but a good rule of thumb is to plant the seed twice as deep as the size of the seed. Also ways use compost or a nice organic potting soil with compost in it. Water the seedlings and plants well. Thin the plants if you are not growing your own micro greens harvest and eat.
Grow your own food!
